Peter was sort of a mentor to Gary in the early days, so after leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1970 he decided to lent the guitar to Gary. Previously owned by Peter Green who bought it secondhand in 1966. Gary Moore died of a heart attack in his sleep at the age of 58, during the early hours of 6 February 2011. He also guested on a number of albums recorded by high profile musicians, including a cameo appearance playing the lead guitar solo on “She’s My Baby”. In 1977 Gary was asked to re-join Thin Lizzy – first as a temporary replacement for Brian Robertson, and on a permanent basis a year later. Moore stayed with the band for about a year, after which he joined another band called Colosseum II, with whom he would play up until 1977/78. During this time he met Phil Lynott, who in 1974 invited Gary to join “Thin Lizzy” – after the departure of founding member Eric Bell. Gary’s first serious band was “Skid Row”, which he joined in 1969. Gary’s new home was Dublin, where he met his personal mentor, and a greatest influence – Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac.
